Sailing Telemachus
While this site is mainly for friends and family to follow my journey, it is also meant to be an informative platform that can hopefully guide others in similar pursuits.
About Me
Join me in taking a well-deserved break from the professional world to explore our planet’s most remote gems. As a former AI Engineer at a defense contractor, I’ve traded multiple monitors for navigational charts, setting sail across the South Pacific until I go back to school for my Masters program this September. While I’m far from an expert in sailing and navigation, I’m embracing the challenge, learning as I go, one wave at a time.

The Plan (And Lack Thereof)
The plan is to buy a catamaran in Tahiti, take the time before cyclone season ends to practice more, gain confidence and depart towards Australia. Stopping along wherever I can, the current list of countries is French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Niue, Tonga, Samoa, American Samoa, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Australia.

The Plan
Change of Plans
While planning is great, all of my plans are fluid. The truth is, you could spend years exploring just French Polynesia and still barely scratch the surface. While I hope to make it to Australia, this journey isn’t about breaking records or racing against time, it's about embracing the unknown and waking up each day with something new to learn.

My Current Location
Here you'll be able to see my current location in real time. Currently Telemachus is waiting for me in the Taina Marina, but soon I will sync the AIS and be able to provide real time updates of where I am and where I am going.
